We finally found that fabled "trusted mechanic." Paul and his team at the Medlock Gulf are fair, reasonable, and completely trustworthy. A number of times, we have brought our car there, concerned about a potentially costly problem, only to have them tell us it's a quick, cheap fix, or not actually a concern at all. In other words, we've shown up fully prepared to open our wallets to them, and they've turned us away. How often does that happen?Most recently, they not only handled our repairs for us but actively advocated on our behalf when we had to fix a Jiffy Lube oil change that went really terribly awry. Paul got on the phone with Jiffy Lube's rep and helped us convince them that they needed to make our situation right. Without him, I seriously doubt that situation would have been resolved as well as it was.Overall, great service, friendly people, and fair prices. The only downside is they close kind of early (8pm) on weeknights, and aren't open for repairs on Sundays.
